To celebrate the opening game of the Ohio State Buckeyes vs. the University of Nebraska cornhuskers this coming Saturday we are asking all CES students to wear OSU gear or scarlet & grey tomorrow, Friday, October 23. This is Dave Skelton with Coshocton Elementary School. Our school will have a two-hour early dismissal tomorrow, Wednesday, October 21st. If your children walk home, ride a bus, or get picked up by you in front of the building, please know they should be there two hours earlier than normal. We normally dismiss starting at 3:05, so we will begin dismissing at 1:05 tomorrow. FYI, our staff will be working from 1:30-3:30 as part of our district's professional development plan. Hello, this is Dave Hire, Superintendent of the Coshocton City Schools, with an important announcement for all high school parents and staff. As required by the Ohio Department of Health Director’s Order, I am calling to notify you that a student or staff member associated with Coshocton High School has tested positive for COVID-19. Coshocton High School will remain open at this time. We are working closely with the City Health Department and anyone identified as a close contact will be notified by the health department as a part of a COVID-19 investigation. However, due to the circumstances of this specific case, we do not believe that any students will be quarantined/isolated by the health department. A letter has been posted on our school website at www.coshoctoncityschools.com. On the home page you will find a COVID-19 Information tab or button directly below the banner at the top of the page. After you click on the button, you will see a folder called COVID-19 Parent Notification Letters. Click on this folder to access the full letter. Thank you for your attention to this notification. We will continue to monitor all health situations and communicate additional information if possible.

Hello this is Mr. Meiser, CES Assistant Principal and your remote learning contact with an important message for all parents and guardians of 3rd grade remote learners. Your student will be taking the Ohio State Third Grade Language Arts Test the last week of October. We are offering three options that you can select from for your child to test: Tuesday October 27th 9:00-12:00, Wednesday October 28th 9:00-12-00 and Thursday October 29th 9:00-12:00. Please call the office by 2:00 Wednesday October 21st with your first and second choice, as we will be limiting each group to no more than ten students. A box lunch will be provided for your student to take home. We guarantee that your child will be in a safe environment. We are taking every precaution to limit interaction with others, ensure proper social distancing, and the room disinfected. Students will be required to wear masks during the assessment. A letter further outlining all details was mailed today. Please follow the link below to view this letter. Once again, thank you for all you are doing to help your child succeed in these strenuous times. #coshoctonpride https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/972453/3rd_Grade_Remote_State_Testing_Lettter.doc

October 14, 2020 Good evening, this is John Casey with a voice message to parents of Coshocton Elementary School students. There have been many changes since the start of this school year with students switching from online learning to face-to-face learning. As a result, we are making adjustments with our teaching staff and classroom assignments. A letter about this was sent home with your children today and will be posted on our district’s website, which you could read by using a link shown in the text copy of this voice message. If your child will experience a change of teacher, you will receive a letter in the mail to let you know what specific changes will be made beginning the second quarter, Monday, October 26. Thank you and have a good evening. https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/964675/CES_General_Letter_regarding_class_changes.docx

Hello this is Mr. Meiser, CES Assistant Principal and your remote learning contact. All students, including remote learners, have Monday, October 5 and Tuesday, October 6 off for “Fair Break”. Remote learners are not required to log in on weekdays when “in-person” school is not in session. If you have assignments due according to Edgenuity on those days, you can work ahead and finish them early or catch up and do them after the days off. You are not expected to work on days off. Edgenuity’s due dates are set according to their schedule. We supply them with a start date (Sept 16) and a stop date (January 15) and then Edgenuity gives the assignments due dates based on our start and stop dates not our district scheduled days off . In addition, several of you have asked about meal availability for your remote learners. If you are interested in picking up a meal that is on the school menu, please call 740-622-5514. Once the auto-attendant answers and tells you to enter your party's extension, please enter 3999. All orders must be placed before 9:00 a.m. on the day the meal is being served. Meals that have been ordered will be available for pick up at 10:30 a.m. each day outside the elementary gym doors. You can find the menu by visiting www.coshoctoncityschools.com. Once there, click on Menu and then Dining. The menu is also located in the Coshocton City Schools app under Dining. Once again, I understand the enormous responsibility and challenges that remote learning places on parents and I wish to thank you for all your efforts!

Good evening! This is Tim Jones, assistant principal at Coshocton High School. We have a couple of announcements for remote learners, grades 6-12. First of all, please send your child's remote learning teacher YOUR EMAIL so you can be added as a COACH in the APEX Learning Program. This will help you as a parent stay informed and receive a weekly progress report. A Fair Break reminder: CCS will not be in session October 5th and 6th and APEX attendance will not be taken. However, students are still required to stay on pace with coursework expectations and due dates. Next, we have posted information explaining the APEX Progress Report. This can be found in our Remote Google Classroom page. Finally, picture day for Remote Learners grades 7-12 will be this Thursday, October 1 st from 8-10 AM in the auditorium. Please enter through the lower GAC doors to have your temperature taken. Masks and social distancing will be required. If you ordered a yearbook, these will be available as well. If you have any questions, please contact us at Coshocton High School. Have a great night!
