Good evening, this is Tony Meiser Assistant Principal and your Remote Learning Contact with an important message for all remote learners. We appreciate all of your hard work and patience as we have navigated this online journey together. As we continue to plan for the second semester, we are asking that you commit to your plan for the rest of the school year. Yesterday your teacher shared with your child the Learning Options Survey for the second semester. If you have already completed this survey, thank you for your timely response. If not, we ask that you do so by Tuesday, December 1st. This will allow us to adequately plan for the rest of the year for both our remote students and our face-to-face classes. Hello, this is Dave Hire, Superintendent of the Coshocton City Schools, with two important announcements for all parents and staff. First, the Coshocton City Schools will plan to be on our modified schedule when we return to school after Thanksgiving Break on next Tuesday. There is no school for all students on Monday in lieu of Parent/Teacher Conferences. Classes resume on Tuesday, December 1st. Please know that while we will make every effort to keep our doors open, there is always the possibility of needing to go to a fully remote situation on a moment’s notice, especially due to staffing issues and the availability of substitute teachers. We will keep our eye on this situation and let you know of any changes as soon as possible. As always, our scheduling plans can be found at the top of our website, so please be sure to check for any updates during the Thanksgiving Break. Second, I am calling to notify you that we have received information about two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in students or staff members at Coshocton Elementary School. We continue to work closely with the City Health Department and anyone identified as a close contact will be notified by the health department as a part of a COVID-19 investigation. However, in this specific case, it appears that no individuals will need to be isolated or quarantined by the Health Department. The buildings will remain open at this time on a modified schedule. A letter has been posted on our school website under the COVID-19 Information tab. Thank you and have a good evening.
