Hello, this is Dave Hire with an important announcement for all parents and staff.
We have received information about six additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 in students or staff members at Coshocton Elementary School, and one confirmed case at Coshocton High School. We continue to work closely with the City Health Department and anyone identified as a close contact will be notified by the health department as a part of a COVID-19 investigation. All district buildings will remain open at this time.
We continue to encourage and strongly recommend masks for all students. According to the health department guidelines, students who are masked will not have to be quarantined and will be able to attend school as long as they do not show any symptoms.
A letter has been posted on our school website under the COVID-19 Confirmed Case Information tab directly below the banner at the top of the page.
We will continue to monitor all health situations and communicate additional information if possible. Thank you for your attention to this notification and have a good evening!

This is just a reminder that there is no school on Monday, September 6th due to Labor Day. Also, the Board of Education has rescinded its decision to require masks. While masks are no longer required, they are still strongly encouraged. Please have a safe and healthy Labor Day weekend and enjoy the holiday.

Hello, this is Grant Fauver, Director of Operations and Engagement at Coshocton City Schools, with an important announcement for all high school parents and staff. We are continuing to have extreme heat issues in the high school building and are unable to get the temperatures to a safe level - therefore, CHS will be closed again tomorrow, Friday, August 27th. Students will not report to school in grades 7 through 12 at the high school building. This impacts the high school only - not the elementary school. Conditions will be evaluated around the clock and please stay tuned for more information as it becomes available. Thank you for your attention to this important matter and have a good evening.

The first Coshocton biddy league football practice for students in 5th and 6th grade will be held at the high school practice field on Monday, August 30th at 5:30.

Any 5th & 6th Grade Students interested in Little League Football for the 2021-2022 school year please join us at CHS on Monday, August 30th at 5:30pm.

Hello, this is Dave Hire with an important announcement for all high school parents and staff.
Due to the heat issues in our high school building, Coshocton High School will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, August 26th. Students will not report to school in grades 7 through 12 at the high school building. This impacts the high school only and not the elementary school. The elementary school building is climate controlled and elementary students will still have school tomorrow.
Conditions will be evaluated on a daily basis.
Thank you for your attention to this important message and have a good evening.

Good evening, this is Mr. Meiser from CES with an important announcement for all parents and guardians. Just a friendly reminder that the Cambridge Rd entrance is for bus traffic only in the morning. Please use the 14th st. entrance to drop off your students. We appreciate your understanding in following this traffic pattern to ensure all of our students arrive on time. As always, If you have any questions don’t hesitate to call the school office at 740-622-5514. Have a great evening. #cespride

Hello, this is Dave Hire with two important announcements for all parents and staff.
First, the Coshocton City Schools will not be enforcing the masking requirement for staff and students starting tomorrow morning, and will provide a two-week grace period through Labor Day. Masks will be strongly encouraged and parents who want their children to wear masks will have their request honored. We recognize that there are concerns and confusion resulting from the timing of the board action, forms provided at the Open House giving parents an option, as well as the difficulty of wearing masks indoors without air conditioning at the high school. Again, the requirement to wear masks will not be enforced for at least the first two weeks of school.
Masks will still be required on all buses as required by the CDC. Students will be provided a mask if they do not have one.
Second, there has been talk about a peaceful protest tomorrow morning. We do not anticipate this protest will interfere with students or staff entering our buildings. While we believe that everyone has a right to free speech, we also believe that our staff and students have the right to arrive at school feeling safe and secure. For that reason, we will have Sheriff deputies on site to ensure the feeling of safety for staff and students.

Hello, this is Dave Hire, Superintendent at the Coshocton City Schools, with an important announcement for all parents and staff.
Last evening the Board of Education discussed and voted to require masks indoors for everyone during school hours. The Board is concerned about the safety of all, both students and staff, and they want to be proactive to help prevent any outbreaks, so we can keep our students in school. I share these concerns with them, and I agree that this is the best course of action. The medical experts, including the Ohio Department of Health, all agree that the best prevention against this new highly contagious variant is vaccination and masking indoors.
Masking is our best chance to keep our kids in our classrooms and not have them quarantined. Students exposed as a close contact can remain in school and extracurricular activities if they are masked, and do not exhibit symptoms.
It is with the best intentions to keep our students safe and able to participate in face-to-face instruction. I understand that not everyone will agree with these measures. It is a proactive measure to help keep our students safe and in school.
I apologize for this late notice and for the inconvenience to our families as we do our best to stay on top of a rapidly changing situation.
